Hacked them to bits, in reality. When I questioned them, they said though they had permission only to cut branches smaller than 10 inches in diameter, they couldn't reach them so they hacked off the larger ones they're attached to. Of course. *Slaps self on forehead*. The society is apparently responsible for providing a ladder or something.
